Northern Lights College present Fort St. John International Airshow!

Dazzle in the air, engage on the ground

The Fort St. John International Airshow Committee is excited to announce our title partner, Northern Lights College (“NLC”)!

This partnership will allow the Fort St. John International Airshow to continue to build an incredible family-friendly show to dazzle in the air and engage our attendees on the ground with a focus on STEM displays and learning opportunities for all ages. Some of our incredible displays will include the Erickson B25 WASP SOAR and Tourbillion Turbines.

Northern Lights College is committed to providing quality education in both academics and trades. The aircraft maintenance program has been part of NLC since 1981; in this program, students work on a variety of aircrafts including helicopters, single engine planes, and a jet plane. The aforementioned jet plan was donated by Top Aces in 2019 and is the first jet engine in the history of the program.

Not only has the aircraft maintenance program been largely successful, with an 80-85% employment rate, there has been an increase in the number of women taking the program. Approximately 25% of students enrolled in the program are women. Employers in BC seek NLC graduates based on feedback in the program advisory committee and the program is offered in Dawson Creek and through Okanagan college in Vernon under NLC direction.

More performers and displays will be announced soon! Don’t miss out on the fantastic return of the Fort St. John International Airshow, July 30 – 31, 2022. Learn more at https://fsjairshow.com/

Quotes:

“We are thrilled to be the title sponsor of the Fort St. John International Airshow as it makes its return this year. NLC has always been committed to this region and believes in helping it grow however we can. The airshow, especially with this year’s focus on education and the STEM careers, aligns perfectly with what the College has always stood for. And with the Erickson B25 WASP SOAR tour being part of the event, it’s a good opportunity for us to continue to talk about women in fields where they’ve traditionally been underrepresented. So there were many reasons that we wanted to come onboard as big supporters of this event, and we’re happy to do that.” – Todd Bondaroff, Acting President and CEO, Northern Lights College

“This partnership just makes sense. We’re thrilled to bring education to the show in 2022 with STEM displays on the ground for our attendees to interact with and learn from. We’re especially excited about this partnership as it provides the Fort St. John International Airshow an opportunity to shine a light on women in the aviation industry. With the Erickson B25 WASP SOAR display and our mother-daughter Airboss duo, this partnership felt like the last piece of the puzzle to really showcase education, trades, and women in aviation” – Sandi Miller, Producer
