Undaunted Airshows are a two-shipment formation aerobatic team utilizing the Vans aircraft series of sport planes–the RV-7 and RV-8.
Stephen “Christo” Christopher is the team lead and flies the red and white side-by-side seat experimental RV-7. His aircraft is named Margarita.
The orange single-seat RV-8 is flown by Todd “Woody” Rudberg. His aircraft is named Undaunted.
The aircraft are approximately 21 feet long and 24 feet wide, powered by Lycoming IO390 engines producing 215 horsepower each and weighing around 1,100 lbs, giving them an impressive power-to-weight ratio of about 5 lbs/hp. During shows, these efficient planes burn roughly 3 gallons of avgas each and 6 gallons of smoke oil.
